Here we go again. Second year, semester 4. My jury is done. It was really different.  Now, I've a theory paper on 1st May (the day after tomorrow) No, I have not started studying. The subject is product semiotics. But that is different from the subject of today. I have lost control of how my brain functions. I need to swim in the direction I want to be, but I feel I've left myself just floating into randomness. And it bloody sucks. I hate it really bad.  My brain currently does not want to stay in line with what I want to do. I don't even know if it makes sense, but it is true.   I am in love with bicycles again, but I'm not able to PHYSICALLY do anything about it. All I'm left with is some hints of visualisations in my mind. I mean I hold a pencil and start sketching, but the mental process just stops, and I'm left with nothing. As if my brain just switches off completely. But I need to get back. ASAP. But I need to do something. This state of floating with e...

Hello! This is an update. I know I haven't posted anything in a while. The reason you ask? well, I was just too lazy to post. So I'm currently studying product design. I'm in my second year. Honestly, I don't know what I will post on my blog in the future. When I started posting, I intended to share my thoughts through words.  So basically there was no direction and vision for this blog. And I still have no idea about it.  When I read my older posts, I realised I used a lot of text and very few visuals. The irony is, I tried to use exaggerated words to make the reader visualise the situations. So long story short, minimal text, and attempt to add more visual elements. Even though I'm studying product design, don't expect me to put up my college assignments, design knowledge, etc in all my posts. Believe me, I'm actually going to post random things, which could include my experience of riding a bicycle which is not maintained well, motorcycles, or maybe a s...

(yes the above models are made by me) Just do it (yourself)   Yes yes yes! Today we will discuss about one of my topic and hobby, DIY! (excited right?!) Yay!  For me personally, I used to do these household repairs (popularly known as  jugaad  in India) since I was a kid. And most importantly, without any internet reference. To be honest, all of those had a 95% failure rate. Most of my highly ambitious projects made their way to the dustbin. But obviously, it did not discourage me, as I still do DIY projects. Alright, so basically let me clear all the chaos that is in your mind when you hear this subject. Lots of tools, fancy materials, super time consuming, high rate of failure, are the huge dense clouds spinning around your mind, when it comes to actually doing DIY. Lets make this whole thing crystal clear. DIY is basically the method of building, modifying, or repairing things, by yourself, without the help of any professionals.  Now, if you have done these t...
FORM. (I mean 3D forms....) If an object has height, width and depth, it is a form . A form  can be a man-made, geometric shape that is mathematically precise in all its angles and edges, or it can be a natural, organic form. - this is the Google definition of a form. In this blog, I refer 'A Form' as a 3 dimensional form... and a paper form..(get it?)  We know cube, cuboid, sphere, prism, pyramid, cone, cylinder, are basic three dimensional forms, that we learnt in school. But I know, most of us never cared about researching about forms... right? I mean obviously.. you would think, who cares about forms? right? If you look around right now, you are actually surrounded by the air and thousands of 3D forms (seriously, look around). Every single product around, is a modified form. For example, a regular chair, is basically lots of cuboids of different dimensions joint together or my pencil is a super long hexagonal prism, with a cone on top, and by using a sharp...

Animation! A world full of cars, Animals fleeing out of the zoo, Toys coming to life, Robots coming from the future through a time machine to help a hopeless boy, A house floating in the sky, superheros coming from parallel universe... and so many more. Bam! my childhood was fueled with animated content (movies, tv shows, cartoons) which, I still remember, elevated my level of imagination and quality of my dreams (both day and night) to a whole new level. And I'll be honest, they still do! (yes i still watch animated content).  But more than all of that, animation has this power to take you and your intellect, to a whole new place, by showing visuals and worlds that are larger than life, and beyond our thinking. For example, the visuals shown in films like UP, Soul, WALL-E,(by Pixar Animation Studios) the comic book feel and original style of Spider-Man : Into the Spider-Verse (by Sony pictures entertainment) the aesthetics and deep storyline of Isle Of Dogs, Fantastic Mr.Fox (dire...

Motorcycles and me.  (These bikes are not mine. I mean the bike on the right side is a scaled model of Ducati Scrambler, and the one on the left is a Royal Enfield Classic 500, which has been to Leh Ladakh) OH PLEASE STOP IT!!!Grrrrrrrrrrr😔!!This is what I felt as a kid when a motorcycle passed in full speed. Yes I grew up hating Motorcycles. I mean back then all my friends were crazy behind the Suzuki Hayabusa, Kawasaki Ninja, and those 500cc+ super sport bikes, but I just did not get the point. I did respect the engineering, brand of the company that went behind creating these bikes, but you know, I did not enjoy those. In case if someone came and asked me which type of bikes did I like the most, (me sighing inside) I replied, Cruisers, and dirt bikes. Why? you would ask.. well the dirt bike asthetics looked (and still look) really really cool. And cruisers, oh I still love those, mainly because of the comfortable seating position, and the styling of the bikes. So, after I comple...
3..2..1..Lift off! First blog post! I am Gunj Mali. (the meaning Gunj is 'ECHO'. For the curious readers) born in 2003 and I am a student. So you must be wondering.. what would you find on this blog? with a weird name VICHAR. Well you would find a lot of things which mainly revolve around Design, History, Environment, Films and fun stories from my day to day experiences. My main idea for starting this blog was to share ideas and experiences that evolve naturally from my imagination and knowledge, rather than just technical and nerd like jargon ;P. And and and, share all of this in a minimalist manner, because, time is money.. right? Alright. This was just the basic intro for the future of this blog. Feel free to comment your thoughts.  Stick around for next posts! See ya and stay safe.  (and focus on doing something that you love :)
